British bands strike again

While we're on the topic of Brit bands, I've been really feeling the new single from Boy Kill Boy, who will headline NME's tour this summer. "Susie," the first single, is available to stream on the band's myspace, as is the equally catchy itunes acoustic version.

Carl Barat's New Album

Since I got into the Libertines last summer, I've been awaiting new work from its former members. On May 8th, ex co-frontman Carl Barat relases an album with his new band, Dirty Pretty Things. The album has received hype in NME, where you can listen to the album with a free NME registration.

Since I'm getting sick of waiting patiently for Wednesday and a new village voice, I've been checking around for some alternative arts weeklies across the country. My new favorite is Seattle's The Stranger, a good source for upcoming bands in the Seattle scene.
